06 October 2020

This was announced by Marta Bushe, Head of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of GLP Principles of the National Institute for Accreditation of RusAccreditation (NIAR), during her speech at the Eighth Scientific and Practical Conference of specialists in working with laboratory animals, which took place on October 2 in Pushchino, Moscow Region. According to the NIAR representative, the infrastructure created in the country allows conducting research, the results of which can be used by Russian and foreign manufacturers in different countries of the world to confirm the safety of substances and materials used in products.

Marta Bushe recalled that to this day 11 testing laboratories (centers) were recognized as compliant with the GLP principles and were included in the register. Of these, 6 received a certificate of international recognition of compliance with the principles of good laboratory practice (GLP) by the Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS).

The head of the GLP Coordination Center also announced that in 2018-2019 there had been implemented a technical project between the OECD and Russia “Technical Assistance on Improving the Russian System of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)”. The project resulted in an assessment of the Russian GLP system in July 2019. The conducted audit by the OECD showed that the GLP system in Russia fully complies with the requirements of the OECD documents. The results of the successful completion of this assessment by RusAccreditation were reported at the meeting of the OECD working group on GLP in February 2020.
