On October 26 in the State Duma in the mode of videoconferencing a round table was held on the topic "Safe childhood: legal regulation of conformity assessment of children's goods". The event was moderated by Olga Okuneva, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Women, Family and Children. The event was attended by Head of RusAccreditation Nazariy Skrypnik.
The participants of the event discussed issues of improving the legal framework for conformity assessment and procurement procedures for goods intended for children and adolescents, the development of the industry of children's goods and their import.
Nazariy Skrypnik noted that the issue of assessing the conformity of goods for children with safety requirements was under the special control of the Service. RusAccreditation maintains separate statistics on the testing of such goods, on their certification and declaration.
Speaking about the topic of the state order, the head of the national accreditation body noted that manufacturers of children's goods were interested in a mechanism for checking the validity of certificates or declarations. If the goods are supplied as part of a state or municipal order, the certificate or declaration is enclosed in a package of documents in paper form. Paper version of these documents does not make it possible to check their status at a specific moment, since it contains information as of the date of issue. The registers of certificates and declarations maintained by RusAccreditation allow at any time to receive reliable information about the validity of the document, its possible suspension or withdrawal.
