MOSCOW, April 29. / TASS /. Russian principal laboratories have begun testing and confirming the safety of goods produced in the Russian Federation to combat coronavirus infection. The portal "The Future of Russia. National Projects", operated by TASS, was informed about this by the press service of the Federal Service for Accreditation.

"The principal laboratories of the Russian Federation, which conduct product testing for export, have taken the burden of testing products aimed at counteracting the spread of COVID-19, as well as conducting studies on the safety of food products and essentials," the department said.

Laboratories test masks, personal protective equipment, medical devices and equipment, including equipment for supporting life sustenance, as well as food and textile products, biological protection suits.

In 2019, 36 principal laboratories were selected from the entire spectrum of laboratories under the jurisdiction of various federal authorities, which are undergoing modernization to ensure a full cycle of testing of products for export. Some of them received the right to use the mark on product test reports - ILAC MRA, recognized in dozens of countries.

However, in a pandemic, these export laboratories are responsible for checking imported and produced products in Russia. Laboratory test reports confirm the compliance of products with the requirements of the EAEU technical regulations, GOSTs and individual safety indicators.

The list of principal laboratories providing checks as part of the fight against coronavirus infection now includes 11 institutions subordinate to Rosselkhoznadzor and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, five to Roszdravnadzor and FMBA of Russia, six to Rosstandart and one to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. Eight principal laboratories are overseen by Rospotrebnadzor.
